Ahmet Gürkan Erdemir

Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiology

Ahmet Gürkan Erdemir, MD, is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Radiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2014 and completed his radiology residency at Hacettepe University in 2020. Dr. Erdemir began his academic career as a research assistant and has since focused his clinical and research interests on emergency radiology, muscleskeletal imaging, and trauma radiology.

He has authored over 20 scientific articles published in national and international journals. His research particularly centers on imaging in trauma patients, musculoskeletal injuries, and functional imaging in oncology.

He is also actively involved in developing innovative reporting systems and imaging protocols for disaster response scenarios. Dr. Erdemir continues to contribute to the field through both clinical practice and academic research, aiming to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care in emergency and muscleskeletal radiology.

Argyropoulou Maria

Medical School, University Ioannina

Medical doctor, trained in pediatric radiology and neuroradiology in Paris, France, Maria Argyropoulou is a Professor of Radiology and Head of the Department of Radiology at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in Greece. As both a teacher and researcher, she has extensive expertise in pediatric radiology and neuroradiology. 

Her special interests include the study of the pediatric brain connectome, the role of imaging in the diagnosis of child abuse, and the contribution of AI in neuroradiology. She is an honorary member of the French Society of Radiology, the European Society of Pediatric Radiology, and the European Society of Neuroradiology. She is one of the directors of the European Course in Pediatric Neuroradiology and currently serves as President of the European Society of Pediatric Radiology. In 2023 she was elected member of the Académie Nationale de Médecine in Paris

Aydıngöz Üstün

Hacettepe University Medicine, Ankara, Turkey

Dr. Üstün Aydıngöz is a musculoskeletal radiologist and a professor of radiology at Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. Currently he is also affiliated with the radiology department of SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He is an author or co-author of more than 110 peer-reviewed articles and 10 book/DVD chapters. He delivered 120 professional lectures in 35 countries. He received the Outstanding Teacher Award presented by radiology residents at Saint Louis University

Bachvarov Chavdar

I am working more than 25 years as interventional radiologist. I do almost all types of endovascular and nonvascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including neuro interventions – coiling, intracranial vessels stenting, interventions in cases of acute ischemic stroke . Since 2023y I am Head of Department of radiology in University Hospital St.Marina, Varna, Bulgaria. 

Balanika Alexia

Alexia Balanika (MD, PhD, MSci) studied Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She continued her specialization in Radiology in Evangelismos General Hospital of Athens.

She completed her Master in Science (II level) in the Medical School in University of Foggia, Italy (2007-2008). She pursued her PhD in the Medical School in Kapodistrian University of Athens (2011). She worked as consultant Radiologist in General Hospital of Athens “KAT” (2001-2003), in University General Hospital of Athens “Attikon”(2003-2009) and in General Hospital of Athens “Asklipieion Voulas” in Computed Tomography Department (2009-2024).

Her experience in Radiological Modalities include computed tomography, ultrasonography, color Doppler ultrasonography (US, CDUS), musculoskeletal X-ray, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, osteoporosis, metabolic bone diseases, Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry/DXA-VFA-Pediatric DXA, Quantitative Ultrasonography/QUS, Quantitative Computed Tomography/vQCT and Peripheral Quantitative Ultrasonography/pQCT. Her research also includes topics in medical history. She has already published 7 scientific medical books, 51 publications in international journals and 58 publications in Greek journals.

Baltas Christos

General Hospital of Athens “G. Gennimatas”

Christos Baltas (MD, PhD, MSci) studied Medicine in University of Patras. He continued his specialization in Radiology in General Hospital of Athens “G. Gennimatas”. He made his Master in Science (II level) in the Medical School in University of Foggia, Italy (2007-2008). He pursued his PhD in the Medical School in University of Thessaly (2006). He worked as consultant Radiologist in National Rehabilitation Center of Athens (1997-2004) and Radiology Imaging Department in General Hospital of Athens “G. Gennimatas” (2004-now).

His experience in Radiological Modalities include Rehabilitation Radiology (more than 6 years), ultrasonography, color Doppler ultrasonography (US, CDUS), musculoskeletal ultrasonography, musculoskeletal X-Ray, osteoporosis, metabolic bone diseases, Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry/DXA-VFA-Pediatric DXA, Quantitative Ultrasonography/QUS, Quantitative Computed Tomography/vQCT, Peripheral Quantitative Ultrasonography/pQCT.

His research includes also topics in medical history. He has already published 9 scientific medical books, 21 publications in international journals and 64 publications in Greek journals.

Berna Dirim

Dr. Berna Dirim Mete, M.D., M.Sc., is a distinguished Professor of Radiology at Izmir Demokrasi University, specializing in musculoskeletal radiology with 25 years of experience. She chairs the Radiology Department and the Turkish Society of Radiology’s Musculoskeletal Research Committee, and serves as the Dean.

A summa cum laude graduate of Ege University, she completed a UCSD research fellowship under Prof. Resnick. An active member of ESSR and ISS, she has over 100 publications and is a recognized speaker.

Deniz Akata

Hacettepe University School of Medicine

Deniz Akata is a full professor at Department of Radiology, Hacettepe University School of Medicine. She works in the fields of abdominal and urogenital imaging and woman pelvis. 

Her current work focuses mainly on the applications of ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in oncology patients and in female pelvis.

 
Moreover she has played active roles in international professional organizations, including European Society of Radiology, Balkan Congress of Radiology and International Society of Strategic Studies in Radiology.

Deniz Bulja

President of Society of Interventional Radiology and Minimally Invasive Therapy in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Deniz Bulja MD PhD was born on May 9th ,1977, in Kosovka Mitrovica.
He graduated from Medical Faculty University of Sarajevo on July 4, 2003 with an average grade of 9.06.


During 2003-2005 Deniz Bulja was active in projects of Queens University (Kingston, Ontario) for implementation and development of Family Medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina.


During 2005-2006 Deniz Bulja worked as a Medical Representative of Abbott Pharmaceuticals.
On April 2006 Deniz Bulja becomes employee of Clinic of Radiology at Clinical Center of University of Sarajevo (CCUS) first as radiology resident, and since 2011 as Board Certified Radiologist at Neuroradiology Department.


European School of Radiology (ESOR) had granted to Deniz Bulja Visiting fellowship in duration of three months in 2010 at Neuroradiology Department of University Hospital in Leuven, Belgium under mentorship of Prof. Guido Wilms.


During time period 2009-2013 Deniz Bulja acted in capacity of Vice Chairman, and from 2011 until 2013 Deniz Bulja was Chairman of Radiology Trainees Forum of European Society of Radiology.


In the period 2011 – 2015 Deniz Bulja was ex oficio member of Educational Committee of ESR.
In the period 2015 – 2017 Deniz Bulja was a member of the Undergraduate Education Subcommittee of ESR.
Since 2009 Deniz Bulja is engaged in teaching process at Faculty of Health Sciences of University of Sarajevo in capacity of Senior Teaching Assistant.


Pursuant to Decision of Federal Ministry of Justice in 2011 Deniz Bulja was appointed as a Permanent Court Interpreter for English Language for territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.


In October 2014 Deniz Bulja MD obtained academic degree Master of medical sciences at Medical Faculty University of Sarajevo.


In the period 2015 – 2023 Deniz Bulja acted in capacity of the President of Radiology Society of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (www.urufbih.com). From 2023 Deniz Bulja acts in capacity of the President of Society of Interventional Radiology and Minimally Invasive Therapy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Deniz Bulja has been awarded with ESMINT Stroke Diploma 2021 for Acute Ischemic Stroke Management.


In November 2022 Deniz Bulja obtained an academic degree PhD of Medical sciences at Medical Faculty University of Sarajevo. Since April 2024 Deniz Bulja has been elected by SSST Medical Faculty as Assistant Professor for the subject Radiology.


Deniz Bulja has performed interventional radiology procedures with his team since 2016.Deniz Bulja has been participant, moderator and lecturer to more than 50 symposia and international congresses and is author or coauthor of more than 20 published papers in the field of radiology.

Dimitropoulos Nikolaos

DELTA DIGITAL IMAGING

Nikolaos Dimitropoulos, MD, PhD , was born in Athens , graduated from Patras University Medical School in 1985 and completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 1990 (Alexandra University Hospital, Athens). In 1990 he was conferred a Ph.D. title from the University of Athens in “Imaging of the postsurgical breast”, which was finished in 1995 with a PhD thesis presentation . During his military service, he has worked as a consultant in 251 Air Forces Hospital Radiology Department (1990-1992) under the direction of Prof. N. Gourtsogiannis. He has worked as a research fellow in Breast Department Alexandra University hospital (1992-1995). He was director of Iaso Maternity Hospital (Breast Imaging Dpt) for the years 1995-1996 , and director of private Women’s Imaging Center (EUROMEDICA-Athens) from 1996 to 2007. 

In 2007 was founder with his wife-colleague (Breast Radiologist), a high standard private breast imaging practice (DELTA DIGITAL IMAGING – Athens) that continues offering specialized Women’s Imaging Diagnostic and Interventional Services.
He was director of the School of Senology (Greek Senologic Society – SIS branch) from 2015-2017 and advisor for Breast Imaging of the Hellenic Radiologic Society (2015-2017).


In 2017 he founder of the “EAME – Hellenic Society of Breast Radiologists”, elected as the first and present President of the Society. The society, driven by the President, has an intense educational program for Radiologists interested in Breast Imaging. The EAME educational team is very experienced and effective , counting 80 Breast Radiologists and 20 high standard members of Clinical Specialties. Every 4 months daily courses are performed in various sectors of Breast Imaging (Screening – Diagnostic – Management – Interventional).


He has published more than 50 papers in Greek and international scientific medical journals and has participated in many research programs with a special focus in computer applications on medical imaging systems (digital imaging, automated diagnosis, pattern recognition, neural networks) . He is an author of a book monography for breast imaging in Greek (2000) titled “Mammography in clinical practice” . He has presented more than 100 oral presentations in Greek and international conferences .

 
He is active member of various Greek and International Radiologic and Breast Scientific Societies.

 

Doryforou Ortansia

Dr Doryforou is the Lead Colonel Radiologist in the Ultrasound & Internal Radiology Department at 251 Airforce &
Veterans Hospital, Athens, Greece, since 2010.


She gained the Board Radiology Certificate at Areteion University Hospital, Athens, in 2006 .
Following her fellowship at Imperial College in Hammersmith & Charing Cross Hospitals, London, UK she has participated
in the multicentric trial for SWE Breast Elastography, working in the prototype ultrasound machine with Prof. Cosgrove .
Her research in Charing Cross included the pioneer application of Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound for detection of
vulnerable carotid plaque with Prof. Eddie Leen. During that period she has been widely exposed to the use of CEUS in
detection and characterization of focal liver lesions and liver ablation.


She is currently holding the position of Breast Radiology Consultant at Imperial College NHS Trust, Charing Cross
Hospital.
Her field of specialty is CEUS application, Breast and US- guided minimally invasive procedures .

Nikolaos Galanakis

University Hospital of Heraklion

Dr Nikolaos Galanakis MD, MSc, PhD, EBIR is elected Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology at University of Crete, Medical School.

He qualified from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 2013. He has completed a PhD on the role of CT and MR perfusion techniques in patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease and he has also a Master on Healthcare Management. Moreover, he was a clinical fellow at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in San Paolo University Hospital of Milan.

His clinical practice includes the majority of interventional radiology procedures including peripheral endovascular procedures, venous interventions, EVAR, transarterial embolization and chemoembolization, radiofrequency and microwave ablation, biliary and genitourinary interventions.

Dr Nikolaos Galanakis has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 2 book chapters and he has presented numerous oral and poster scientific presentations and invited lectures in national and international conferences. He has received 6 awards or distinctions for his research activities.

He is President of Radiological Society of Crete, board member of Medical Association of Heraklion and member of ESR, CIRSE, Hellenic College of Radiology and Hellenic Radiological Society.

Gasic Milos

Dr. Milos Gasic was born on December 29, 1985 in Pristina. Completed elementary school in Pristina and high school in Smederevo with excellent results, and continued education at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, which enrolled in the 2004/05 school year, and graduated in June 2010 with an average grade of 9.54.

Enrolled specialist studies in the field of Radiology in 2012/13 at the Faculty of Medicine in Pristina-Kosovska Mitrovica, and completed in 2017. with excellent results.

Enrolled doctoral academic studies in the 2010/11 academic year, at the Faculty of Medicine in Pristina-Kosovska Mitrovica, and completed in 2019.

Since April 2011, employed at the Faculty of Medicine in Pristina, Kos.Mitrovica, in the subject of Anatomy, first as a teaching associate, then as an Assistant, and since 2020 as an Assistant Professor.

Giouroukou Konstantina

Konstantina Giouroukou is a PhD Candidate at the School of Medicine, University of Crete (since November 2024). She holds a BSc in Physics


(2021) from the Department of Physics, University of Crete, and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (2024) from the same university’s School of Medicine. Her doctoral research focuses on developing and evaluating generative models for synthetic medical image generation, with a particular emphasis on improving data quality and advancing machine learning techniques in biomedical imaging.

Gökçen Çoban Çifçi

Hacettepe University Medical School

I was born in 1981. I attained the title of Associate Professor in 2016 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2024.
I specialize in pediatric and adult neuroimaging. Since joining Hacettepe University seven years ago, I have been actively engaged in research focused on synthetic MRI applications and advanced imaging techniques, particularly in Perfusion MRI, DTI, MR Spectroscopy, and APT-CEST Imaging.

I hold the European Diploma in Radiology, the European Diploma in Neuroradiology, and the European Diploma in Pediatric Neuroradiology. In 2024, I successfully completed the European Society of Radiology (ESR) Master Class (Modules 1–5) in Artificial Intelligence, further enhancing my expertise in this field. My research portfolio also includes studies on classical machine learning methods.


I have been a board member of the European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR) Spine Committee since 2023. I am an active member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR), contributing to advanced imaging in neuroradiology through my research and professional engagements.

Guler Ezgi

Ege University Faculty of Medicine

I graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 2008. I completed my radiology residency at Hacettepe University in Ankara in 2013. Since 2016, I have been working as an abdominal and genitourinary radiologist at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in Izmir. Currently, I am working as an associate professor in the same institution. I obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2013. 

I attended my observership in abdominal radiology in Beaujon Hospital, Paris Sorbonne Cité University, in France. I completed my research fellowship in abdominal imaging at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in USA in 2019. I have research interests in abdominal, genitourinary, gynecological imaging, oncologic imaging, and medical education.

Hadjidekov George

University Hospital “Lozenetz”

Professor George V.Hadjidekov, MD, PhD graduated in medicine in 2000. From 2005 to 2006, he specialized at the Hôpital Jean Minjoz in Besançon, France. In 2011, he defended his PhD thesis on Pediatric Uro-MRI. He is the author and co-author of 103 full-text scientific papers and 7 chapters in 7 international books. His papers have been cited more than 200 times. His main professional and scientific interests include fetal, pediatric, urogenital, and pelvic MR Imaging.


Prof. Hadjidekov is a member of several organizations, including ESR, ESUR, ESGAR, ESPR, and BAR, and serves on the editorial board of both national and international scientific journals. He has been an invited speaker at numerous international radiological meetings. He is fluent in English and French.

He is a full professor at the Department of Physics, Biophysics, and Radiology at the Faculty of Medicine at “St. Kliment Ohridski” University Sofia, as well as at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, University Hospital “Lozenetz” in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Amanda Isaac

Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, UK

Dr. Amanda Isaac is a leading Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, UK, and an adjunct Associate Professor at King’s College London’s School of Biomedical Imaging and Imaging Sciences. Her research centers on the transformative applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in spinal surgery and musculoskeletal interventions, where she has secured major grants, focusing on value-based healthcare in spine surgery.

She is an integral member of the Royal College of Radiologists AI Educational Committee, the Alan Turing Institute’s Clinical AI group, and a NICE advisor on AI tools for fracture detection. Dr. Isaac actively integrates AI advancements into medical education, mentoring PhD and MSc students and developing AI-focused curricula.

Dr. Isaac’s invaluable contributions to Clinical Governance are nationally acknowledged. She is instrumental in developing national guidelines and strategies, formulating multidisciplinary patient care pathways, and spearheading numerous healthcare quality improvement projects and is a NICE expert on arthritis imaging. 

In her clinical work, Dr. Isaac assumes key positions such as the Clinical Governance, Audit & Quality Improvement Lead, and Imaging Lead for Hip, Wrist, and Hand Services at one of Europe’s largest specialized centers. As a founding member of the GSTT/KCL hip research team, her far-reaching impact is widely recognized across the medical community. 

Her fervor for education is underscored by her affiliations with the Educational Committee of BASEM, the clinical AI group of the Alan Turing Institute, and the RCR AI educational initiative. She also actively contributes to the London School of Clinical Radiology: London Deanery and guides the next generation of medical talent as an Educational Supervisor.

Her memberships in organizations like ISS (the international society of skeletal radiology), ESSR (the European society of skeletal radiology), BSSR (the British society of skeletal radiologists), ISMRM (International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine), and ESR(the European society of radiology), PAARS (Pan Arab Radiology Society) as well as affiliations with the Educational Committee of BASEM,(the British association of sports and exercise medicine) show her continued commitment to our field. 

As a thought leader in AI and musculoskeletal radiology, she has published extensively, including co-editing AI-focused imaging guidelines and books. Her dedication to education extends to roles in BASEM and as an examiner and mentor, fostering the next generation of radiologists and researchers. Dr. Isaac’s work is shaping the future of AI-driven healthcare and radiology education.

Kalarakis Georgios

Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm

Georgios Kalarakis is a neuroradiologist at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm and an affiliated researcher at Karolinska Institutet. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Crete Medical School, where his doctoral work focused on CT perfusion in hepatocellular carcinoma. His clinical focus includes stroke imaging and neurointervention, while his research interests center on radiomics, artificial intelligence, and imaging biomarkers. 

He has contributed to several European initiatives through the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII), including the development of the METhodological RadiomICs Score (METRICS). Dr. Kalarakis is currently completing the European Diploma in Neuroradiology and holds an EYMINT e-Fellowship. Originally from Heraklion, he maintains strong academic collaborations in both Sweden and Greece.

Karlovi -Vidakovi Marijana

Dr. Marijana Karlovi-Vidakovi
was born in Sarajevo, graduated Medical Faculty at University Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She worked as Family Medicine Physician after which she specialized in Radiology at the University Clinical Centre in Sarajevo (2003).
She finished subspecialisation in Neuroradiology at the University Clinical Centre in Split, Croatia in the year 2010.
Nostrified her Medical diploma in the Medical Faculty of Zagreb in 2013 and finished PHD studies at the Medical Faculty in Split.

 
She worked at the University Clinical Hospital in Mostar, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Since 2015- 2019 worked as the Head of Neuroradiology Department, 2019-2020 as the Deputy Head of Clinic for Radiology and 2020-2021 as Head of Clinic for Radiology, Mostar, Bosnia and Hercegovina. She worked as a teaching assistant at the Medical Faculty, University of Mostar (2005-2021).

Koukouraki Sophia

Sophia Koukouraki is Professor of Nuclear Medicine and Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine (Imaging and Therapeutic Unit) at the University Hospital and School of Medicine, University of Crete, Creece. She studied at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rome “La Sapienza,” and graduated with honors (102/110).

In 2001 she completed her PhD in Nuclear Oncology. She furthered her training in PET techniques as a guest scientist at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. She has been member of various scientific committees, General Secretary of Nuclear Medicine, National delegate in UEMS, member of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) and of the EANM Oncology & Theranostics Committee Group. She has more than 70 publications, authorship of chapters in international textbooks, lectures, participation in research protocols and teaching experience (undergraduate/ postgraduate).

Prof. Dr. Silvija Lucic is a specialist in nuclear medicine and radiology, and oncologist, working at Oncology Institute of Vojvodina, Department of Nuclear Medicine as a head of diagnostics and PET/CT section. Mainly involved in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in nuclear medicine and hybrid imaging, including a wide variety of imaging procedures with emphasis on FDG PET/CT in oncology, and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in oncology, cardiology and endocrinology.

Milos A. Lucic is a full professor of radiology, neuroradiology, and diagnostic and molecular imaging at the Medical Faculty, University of Novi Sad, Vojvodina/Serbia, working in the field of neuroradiology, paediatric neuroradiology, and multiparametric and neuro-oncology imaging at Diagnostic Imaging Centre, Oncology Institute of Vojvodina, Sremska Kamenica, Novi Sad, Vojvodina/Serbia.


His special interests are neuro-oncology, CSF flow disorders, imaging biomarkers and multiparametric imaging, and machine-learning and AI applications in neuroradiology. He is a holder of European Diploma in Neuroradiology (EDiNR) and European Diploma in Paediatric Neuroradiology (EDiPNR), and acted as an examiner for the EDiR, but also for the EDiNR.


Professor Lucic served as a President of the Junior Radiologists Forum (JRF) of European Association of Radiology (EAR), as European Board of Radiology (EBR) Accreditation Council in Imaging (ACI) Policy Committee chairman, and EBR ACI Scientific Director. Currently, he is performing the duty of ESNR rules committee chairman. He is vice-chairman of Balkan Society of Radiology, president of Serbian Society of Neuroradiology, and past-president of Radiological Society of Serbia.
Professor Lucic is the founder of national MRI society and regional MRI School, held in local languages of Serbia/Croatia/Bosnia/Slovenia since 2006. He participated as a speaker in numerous national and international educational events, congresses, courses, and schools, including ESNR, ECR, and ESOR.

Malamateniou Christina

Olga Nedeljkovic-Arsenovic

Olga Nedeljkovic-Arsenovic was born on March 16th 1984 in Belgrade, is married, mother of two children. She finished primary and high school in Belgrade as an excellent pupil. She enrolled Medicine faculty of Belgrade in 2003 and finished in 2009 with an average mark of 9.63.
Now she is working in the Center for Radiology, University Clinical Center of Serbia, primarily dealing with cardiac magnetic resonance. Olga finished her PhD thesis in 2019. under the name “Effect of bariatric surgery on cardiopulmonary functional capacity in morbidly obese persons.”

 
She became a specialist of radiology in April 2021, after passing the specialist exam with excellent mark. In September 2021. she got a title of medical science research associate and in 2022. she was elected for Assistant Professor of Radiology. She is the author and co-author of 28 original articles and 57 abstracts, fifteen of which are published in extenso on JCR list.


She is a member of Serbian Medical Association, European Society of Radiology, National Society of Radiology and Cardiology, and European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology.
She has been invited to lecture and has attended many domestic and foreign conferences. She speaks Serbian, English, and is proficient in Spanish and French.

Nevra Zehra Elmas

Dr.Nevra Elmas has graduated from the Ege University Medical Faculty in İzmir-Turkey at 1981. She completed her postgraduate training program at the Radiology Department of the same University at 1986. She became Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and full Professor at the same department 1987,1989 and 1997 retrospectively. She worked as a visiting fellow at the Body MR and Gastrointestinal Radiology Sections of the University of Pennsylvania, between 1994 and 1995.

 
After retirement at 2024 from Ege University, she has working as abdominal responsible authority at ERA Imaging Center located at Bayraklı –İzmir.


Her main clinical expertise in cross sectional abdominal imaging with an emphasis on MRI and CT. She interested at Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology during her academic life and she is expert on pancreatic and gynecooncologic radiology.


She worked as Chair of Radiology Department at Ege University between 2011-2014 and presidency position at Turkish Society of Radiology between of 2011-2013. and She has worked as different subcommittees member of ESGAR, ECR and ESR.

Palkó András

Prof. dr. András Palkó graduated from the Medical University of Pécs in 1977, got his radiology board certification in 1981, received his Ph. D. degree in 1994 and habilitated in 1999. He worked at University of Pécs until 1996, was the head of the Department of Radiology of the County Hospital in Pécs until 1997 and chairman of the Department of Radiology of the University of Szeged from 1998 to 2018. 

Currently he is working as an emeritus professor of the Department. He was the president of the Hungarian Society of Radiologists in 2002-2003, chairman of the Hungarian College of Radiology from 2004 to 2010. He was a member of the ESR Board of Directors between 2009 and 2013, president of ESR in 2012, and secretary general of ESGAR from 2010 to 2017. His field of interest is abdominal-gastrointestinal oncologic and emergency imaging. He is the author of 91 peer-reviewed papers and 31 book chapters, and gave more than 200 invited lectures around the globe. He is the honorary member of RSNA, the French, Irish, Polish, Austrian, Romanian, Serbian and Bosnian radiological societies and was awarded by the ESR Gold Medal.

 

Perisinakis Kostas

Prosch Helmut

Helmut Prosch, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiology and the section chief of thoracic imaging at the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. He obtained his medical degree in 2000 from the University of Vienna and trained in Radiology at the Otto Wagner Hospital in Vienna. Previously, he worked as a research fellow at the Children’s Cancer Research Institute in Vienna.


Dr. Prosch’s research primarily focuses on the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer, as well as the application of deep learning in diagnosing diffuse parenchymal lung diseases. He has authored more than 250 articles, reviews, and book chapters, and serves as the deputy editor of European Radiology. Sefic Irmina

I am a pediatric radiologist at the University Medical Centre Maribor in Slovenia, with a particular focus on oncological and thoracic imaging in children, as well as radiation protection for pediatric patients. My work primarily involves imaging for premature babies and neonates. I completed my pediatric radiology fellowship and doctoral studies at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and University Autonoma de Barcelona. 

Additionally, I serve as an Assistant Professor at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology’s Medical Faculty. I am an active member of several radiological societies, including the Association of Radiologists in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the European Society for Pediatric Radiology (ESPR). Currently, I hold the position of Vice Chair for the radiological committee of SIOPEN, and I am also involved with WINFOCUS and ECR.

Stogiannos Nikolaos

Nikolaos Stogiannos is a CT and MRI radiographer with extensive clinical experience, and an active researcher within the field of radiography. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at City St George’s, University of London, where he has been working with the CRRAG research group for the last 5 years. 

In addition, Nikos has also worked as a researcher at University College Cork in Ireland. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence implementation, person-centred care, and applications of radiomics in MRI. Triantafyllou Matthaios

Dr. Matthaios Triantafyllou is Chief Radiology Resident at the University General Hospital of Heraklion, Crete, and a PhD student at the Artificial Intelligence and Translational Imaging Laboratory, School of Medicine, University of Crete. His academic and clinical interests include radiomics, artificial intelligence in medical imaging, and musculoskeletal radiology. He holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering and is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, focusing on imaging and AI.

 He has authored more than 10 peer-reviewed publications in international journals. Dr. Triantafyllou serves as a peer reviewer for 13 journals, including European Radiology and Scientific Reports. He is a member of the ESSR Young Club and a committee member of the EuSoMII Young Club. He has received distinctions such as the Yves Menu Review Fellowship 2025 and the Reviewing Excellence Award 2024 by the European Journal of Radiology.

Vassalou Evangelia

After completing the radiology residency in 2016, Evangelia Vassalou undertook a fellowship program on musculoskeletal radiology at Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi/Milan, granted by the European School of Radiology (ESOR). She completed her PhD thesis at University of Crete, in 2017. Currently she works as a consultant radiologist at University Hospital of Heraklion with special interest in musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging and image-guided interventional procedures. In 2025 she has been elected as the chair of the Ultrasound Subcommittee of the ESSR and is an active member of the Scientific Program Team of the Musculoskeletal Subcommittee of the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) since 2022. 

She has been involved in 4 multicenter research projects and has been selected for the Expert Panel of the 2nd International Consensus Conference on Lung Ultrasound (ICC LUS 2.0) in 2024, as the only Greek researcher. She is the author/co-author of 55 Medline/Scopus publications, 10 chapters in books and more than 60 announcements. She has given more than 35 invited lectures and has served as a tutor in several national/international conferences, including ECR, ESSR and Erasmus courses. Seven of her announcements have been awarded and she has been granted by the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR Young Researchers’ Grant, 2015). She has been involved as an ad-hoc lecturer in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program of the University of Crete/Faculty of Medicine since 2016 and serves as a reviewer for 10 peer-reviewed medical journals.

Jefić Svjetlana

Svjetlana Jefić, born in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a radiologist working in cross-sectional and body imaging, with a strong focus on neuroradiology, skull base pathology, and head and neck radiology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, and completed a Family Medicine course offered by Queen’s University, Toronto, in collaboration with the University of Banja Luka, earning the title of Family Medicine Physician.

 She specialized in general radiology at the University of Banja Luka and subspecialized in neuroradiology at the University of Novi Sad. She worked as a teaching assistant at the Medical Faculty, University of Foča. Svjetlana holds certifications from the European Society of Neuroradiology (EDiNR, EDiHNNR) and Medality’s Brain and Spine and Head and Neck MRI Fellowship Programs. She worked at the University Clinical Centre of the Republic of Srpska and is now in private practice. She is an EPOS reviewer for the ECR and a member of ECR, ESNR, ESHNR, and the national Radiological Association.

Zlatareva Dora

Dora Zlatareva was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She obtained the European Diploma in Neuroradiology in 2012. Since 2020 she has held the position of Full Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Medical University of Sofia and Chair of the National Examination. She was the Head of the same department for the period 2020-2024.

 Her research interests are in the field of adult and paediatric neuroradiology, and virtual anthropoanatomy. She is author or co-author of 260 scientific publications, including European recommendations for practice in paediatric neuroradiology. She is an examiner for the European Diploma in Neuroradiology (EDiNR) and a member of the ESNR Steering and Green Committees. She has been a member of the PPC of the Balkan Congress of Radiology since 2010 and of the Neuro Subcommittee of ECR2017, 2016, 2015. Prof. Zlatareva was President of the Bulgarian Congress of Radiology in 2022. Wrote dissertation and got a PhD at University Sarajevo, was Assistent profesor of Radiology, University Sarajevo, and Head od VIP Departement and Coordinator for commnication with foreigners and foreign organizarions in behalfe of Clinical Center University Sarajevo. Member of BHAAAS (Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences) and member of Senat and Scientific commitie General Hospital Sarajevo, B&H Assosiat Professor of Radiology, University Travnik. 

Educated in Europe, USA. Presented papers and participated as invited speaker on national and international congresses and schools. Author and co-author of more than 150 scientific papers published in numerous recognized journals, and books

 
Married more then 40 years to Bekir Gavrankapetanović President of Bar Association of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Have two childen (lawyers) and two grendchildren.
